Privacy policy
In one sentence: the game has no ads, analytics or purchases, and it doesn't ask for or store any personal data (no email, phone number or password). Our server keeps your world ranking entry and, unless you turn it off, a copy of your game so you can restore it on another phone with your code and your key. You can turn the copy off, hide the entry or delete both.
Only if you play online, your phone connects to our server to match you and relay the game. While connected, the server receives your friend code (six random letters the game generates), the player name and portrait you chose, your duel trophies (to match you with players of your level) and the match data (towers, lives, attacks). Like any internet connection, it also sees your IP address while you are connected.
If the “Appear online” option is on (Settings), other connected players can see your name, portrait and trophies in the list of players online and challenge you to a duel. You can switch it off at any time: then only your friends see you.
For playing, none of it is stored: the server keeps it in memory while you are connected (and, if your connection drops mid-duel, a few seconds longer so you can get back into your match) and forgets it afterwards. The only thing it keeps is the ranking, explained right below. We use no cookies and no advertising identifiers.
So you don't have to start over when you change phones or reinstall, the game keeps a copy of your game on our server (the same data saved on the phone: player name, portrait, progress, friends and Wardrobe) together with your friend code. To restore it on another phone you need your code and a twelve-character key that your phone generates and only you can see (Settings → Your account). The server doesn't store the key, only an encrypted fingerprint of it, and it limits attempts so nobody can guess it.
You can turn the copy off in Settings → Your account → “Cloud copy”: from then on your game is no longer sent. Settings → Erase ALL progress, while online, also deletes the copy from the server.
So you can compare yourself with other players, the server keeps one entry per player with: your friend code (six random letters), your player name and portrait, your best score and stars on each campaign level, your best Endless run and your online duels (trophies, wins and losses). None of it identifies you in real life: no email, no phone number, no location.
Player names go through the same profanity filter as the chat. If you turn off “Appear in the world ranking” (Settings → Online), your entry stops showing in the tables. If you use Settings → Erase ALL progress while online, your entry is deleted from the server.
The Duel screen has a common room where connected players can write to each other, and before and after each duel, a chat with your rival (or all four players, in 2 vs 2). Messages go through an automatic profanity filter, on your phone and on the server. The server keeps in memory only the last forty common-room messages, to show them to whoever joins, and forgets them when it restarts; they are not stored anywhere else. You can mute any player (their messages stop showing on your phone) and report a message: in that case the server writes your code, the reported player's code and the message text to its log, so we can act on it.
The game includes no advertising and no analytics or third-party services that collect data. The store you download it from (Google Play or the App Store) has its own privacy policy.
Eureka Defense is suitable for all ages and asks no one for personal data, including children: the ranking only keeps the player name each person makes up and their scores.
Settings → Erase ALL progress removes your game from the phone and, when you're online, also your cloud copy and your world ranking entry. Uninstalling the game only removes what is on the phone. If you want us to remove your copy or your entry from the server and you no longer have the game, write to us with your friend code.
For any privacy question, write to the contact email shown on the game's store listing.
